  • Thormod the Skald was a warrior-poet from 11th century Iceland—loyal to King Olaf II of Norway and a true embodiment of honor. At the Battle of Stiklestad, Thormod was fatally wounded by an arrow, but even as he lay dying, he recited poetry and refused comfort. According to legend, he pulled the arrow from his chest himself and died praising his king.

In Norse culture, poetry wasn’t just art—it was courage, loyalty, and memory. Thormod lived and died with a sword in one hand and a poem in the other

  • Runes are letters from ancient alphabets used by the Norse and other Germanic peoples. The oldest, the Elder Futhark, dates back to around 150 CE. Runes weren’t just for writing—they also had deep symbolic and spiritual meaning, used in carvings, rituals, and magic. They likely developed from older alphabets through contact with southern European cultures and spread across Scandinavia, Britain, and parts of Europe.

Hate groups have misused these symbols, twisting their meaning to promote racist ideas. That misuse is a distortion of history. Runes are part of a shared human past and should be approached with respect, not hate.

    Hail Odin

  • Spread across Northwestern Europe, you can find impressive tombs that were built between 5000 and 3000 BCE. They were constructed using enormous boulders and protect the graves of one or more people. The exact interpretation and meaning of the monuments and the landscape they can be found in is still being studied to this day. In the Netherlands, these 'hunebedden' or dolmens can primarily be found in Drenthe. Their unique appearance have turned them into an icon for the province, earning it the first entry in the Canon of Dutch History.

The dolmens in Drenthe were built between 3350 and 3030 BCE by farmers who were part of the Funnelbeaker Culture. This name refers to the funnel-shaped ceramic beakers that were found in the dolmens. They used giant boulders that sometimes weighed as much as 20,000 kilos. These were transported to the Netherlands from Scandinavia by the land ice.

  • Hi!, I interest the ancient musics of the nomadic and settlement cultures of the Eurasia.
My songs are about ancient Eurasian nomadic stories comes from forgotten periods in the Central Asian steppes. Each record is a training for me to catch and produce new composes in the classical aspects. My composes can be classifized as ''neo-pagan classic''.
I use self-made instruments in records mostly. I also drawing somethings about nomadic dreams in my own medieval eastern style.

  • Hey! I'm Caio, just a regular guy from Brazil who are in love with folk culture, places, and everything about it.
Something in my life changed after diving deep into this — I’ve been feeling more inspired, happier, and stronger ever since.

I'm also a software developer (working/ working out while listening to Heilung, Danheim, and Fuimadane all day xD).

Big shoutout to the devs and moderators of this platform — such a nice and clean space!

  • hii! i am new here!, i admit i am not pagan, i dont have any ancestors or family connection, however my partner is and his family are extremely proud of their heritage. this year i took an interest to really listen and learn. (im sad it took me this long)

i started with the country, i flew him to norway in january as a surprise and learnt the history and the culture (norway is where his family are from and they have dated their family tree all the way to the 1500s!) . next was the music, i stole his phone, searched what artists he listened to secretly on his spotify and made a note of his top bands. sure enough i was pinged that Wardruna, heilung and eivor were all coming to my city/ near me. i surprised him by taking him to see all 3. i was nervous as this isnt what i listen to, but after i left heilung i was a changed woman. the pagan community were all so welcoming, heilung were so incredible words cant describe what i witnessed.

so here i am. i am using this platform to learn, hopefully ill see new things that my partner isnt aware of and i can show him new things! for now heres some photos of all my concerts (rituals) ive been to, im looking forward to learn all that i can <3
