• How to Properly Bring Offerings to Spirits

When offering to spirits, whether it's the Domovoy (house spirit), Brownie, dark spirits, in-between forces, or the spirits of the dead, there are specific offerings to consider. For dark forces and spirits of the dead, strong alcohol, raw meat, and bl**dy offerings are often appropriate. For field and forest spirits, offerings such as bread, wine, and sweets are suitable.
You can learn this by developing an intuitive sense of what is needed at the moment. This skill comes with experience and often manifests through specific internal sensations, which are perceived through your most developed senses. These could include hearing, sight, touch, or smell—everyone has their own dominant and less dominant abilities.
In our runic practices, many colleagues share that they can clearly sense the taste of the offering in their mouth before giving it to a spirit or god. This intuitive skill develops over time.

  • The last two posts before this are of pine trees as I was just about to post that right in your own backyard is one of your best folk healing remedies.
Harvest pine needles and soak them in a jar with high proof alcohol, and let it sit for 4 weeks in a cool dark space.
This is ultimate antiviral tincture. It is antibacterial and antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory.
Actually has a maximum payload of vitamin C.
This has been used for respiratory for the longest time now.

Try to keep it to Eastern White pine or Scots pine. Some others can have toxic needles.

The smaller greener cones are also high value.
You would just want to strain out all the needles and other bits of earth stuff.

I would say take about a shot glass every few times a day.

    Not my picture.

  • Beltane, or continuation of Sigrblót.

I'm going ahead and getting it to you here before anywhere else.
I might change it up or go extended version. Especially gain levels.

I'm about to burrow for 6 to 8 more studio creations. I'll still be around.
Possibly even more because you all know you are responsible for keeping me going inspired with all you bring here.
You are now accountable for the quality of what I produce. Hahaaa

This was done in 32 bit depth and loses a little of its power in compression for web.
I'm not sure how it will translate to your headphones since I use studio monitors.

Please don't share it out. It's not on YouTube or anywhere else.
If you play it around your own tribe, that's perfect. It's for us here, foremost.

I leave you with a photo by the water on actual full moon night.
Hag's taper and bread/biscuit cookies with alcohol offering.
I ate some of the biscuits.
    You're supposed to.
Even if you weren't, I was really hungry and willing to risk it.

Have a most excellent Spring cycle by any title you have for it

  • There is just something primal about drinking from a curved horn.

Needless to say, this is part of our drinking rituals these days.

Do you have a drinking horn?

  • ”Wine is for him both food and drink.”

To make wine, raw grapes are crushed and then fermented in a process of refinement into alcohol.

This is symbolic for the process of life that we all go through. We are crushed I many ways as both children and grown ups.
We ferment and process the experience of trauma, and turn it into wisdom.

It is not a coincidence that the product of fermentation of this kind is called Spirit.

This is what the All Father enjoys at His table.
Something of higher value enjoyed from a higher perspective.

  • Another post to start conversation

Encouraged or enabled alcoholism in Heathenry / asatru there seems to be little care for recovering alcoholics or people who have a visable issue with alcohol the people before us who practiced asatru or Nordic polytheism yes used alcohol in ritual and in celebration and drank ale dailyfor hydration but they did not live in a modern excess like we do ale was for hydration because water was not safe and people at ritual or in kindreds that almost encourage drinking at holidays or ritual are apart of the problem so my question to you is how do we fix this tell me in the comments what you think the havamal says to not drink to much but why does nobody seem to follow this

  • 'Tis the season when a lot of people end up getting ill—often thanks to sick relatives who show up at family gatherings to cough on everyone. ;)
A tincture made with bee balm (Monarda didyma and/or Monarda fistulosa) and old man's beard lichen (Usnea barbata) can work wonders for speeding up the healing process.

Monarda contains the antimicrobial compounds thymol and carvacrol, and can be used treat or prevent infections — both internally and externally. Usnea is a fruticose lichen species that contains usnic and barbatic acid, which have been proven to inhibit bacterial, fungal, and viral growth, including candida, E-coli, and staph infections.

If you make a tincture of equal parts of these herbs, you end up with a powerful infection-fighting medicine that's invaluable to keep in your home apothecary cabinet.

To make a standard tincture, aim for:
1 ounce of herb to 5 ounces (liquid volume) of solvent if you're using dry herbs, and
1 ounce of herb to 2 ounces (liquid volume) of solvent if you're using fresh ones.

The solvent (aka "menstruum") should be 40% alcohol content (80 proof) to extract the plant's healing properties and ensure that no bacteria or mildew can grow in there. Vodka is ideal for this, but I also use brandy.

One can never have too much medicine available in case of emergencies. Our ancestors used plant medicines exclusively for thousands of years, and they're remarkably effective if used correctly.
    Be well!
