My father passed away in early springtime, on an Easter Sunday. My grandparents had roots from Poland, and over the course of converting to a North American sect of Christianity, found that "Polish Easter breakfast" was something that the grandchildren should be part of every Easter. I do know quite a good amount on Christianity, but I myself am not a Christian. I respect faith as faith goes. My father refused attending a Christian service, while he was dying from cancer. His mother was a devout Buddhist. His father, from what I had heard, didn't bother with attending temple. I think my father's spirituality will always be uncertain. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AI5_olB2xu0

  • Been doing some divination whilst spring cleaning our home. I see many new projects on their way. Grateful for the entire house being completely organized. I now have a dedicated sewing area.

  • Graduate program is a no go. Well, back to doing more important things... like making garments. Getting my sewing tools together. Will be posting progress as progress goes.

  • Been waiting on word if accepted (or not) into a graduate degree program. Will apply for the next semester, if not accepted this upcoming semester! Have to keep climbing the ladder for as long as the gods allow me to do so.

Björk hasn't been releasing many songs, lately, in Icelandic. I've been listening to her music since her album 'Homogenic'. I was in junior high school at that time. I have been studying the lyrics for her song, 'Verandi' for some time now. Noticed that the phrasing for "eye" is almost the same as in German. I took two or three years (I can't remember) of Latin in high school. Studied some German at university. I tend to slowly work at languages. Was studying Cyrillic at one point in time. Hafandi eyrað í vasanum Hafandi augun í skónum Ástarbréf í maganum Vönd af kossum í munninum Kyrr! Hafandi haf af girnd Hafandi loðna löngun um mjaðmirnar Hafandi sjón sem að sér þegar er slökkt Og gott bil milli fótanna Kyrr!

  • Reading about jötnar and gýgjar and Gary Gygax's surname came to mind.

Recalled this old interview from, I suppose, ages ago. Mr. Gygax explains the origins of his surname. Very interesting interview. He's very much missed.

Reading, in depth, on jötnar and gýgjar. (Wikipedia) The name Aurvandill caught my eye and with further reading I found that J.R.R. Tolkien was inspired by it. Thinking back, I believe a friend in high school had explained this to me long ago. I feel as though it has taken me too long to finally apply myself to reading more in depth. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aurvandill

    Aurvandill
Aurvandill (Old Norse) is a figure in Germanic mythology. In Norse mythology, the god Thor tosses Aurvandill's toe – which had frozen while the thunder god was carrying him in a basket across the Élivágar rivers – into the sky to form a star called Aurvandils-tá ('Aurvandill's toe'). In wider medieval Germanic-speaking cultures, he was known as Ēarendel in Old English, Aurendil in Old High German, Auriwandalo in Lombardic, and possibly as auzandil in Gothic. An Old Danish Latinized version, Horwendillus (Ørvendil), is also the name given to the father of ...

Some friends from England, years ago, saw me thinking to myself and asked, "Are you with the faeries?" To this day, I think that is one of the most amazing phrases to say. Last night, a Norwegian YouTube streamer (Bjorn Hansen) was live and talking about Norwegian sayings. "When the sun turns." Another amazing phrase that I think will stick with me.

  • Photo from a summer, years back. Thinking about what I could do to improve our yard this spring. (I suppose I could try to fix that old planter that fell over...)
