🇬🇧 Come and celebrate the Summer Blót with the Nordiska Asa-samfundet (Nordic Asa-community). On Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 14:00, it is once again time to celebrate the summer with gods, goddesses and the beings of the place with a big blót at the Rök Runestone in Ödeshög, Sweden! The Summerblót is a time when hundreds of norse heathens from all over Sweden and other parts of Midgard gather in Rök, Ödeshög in Sweden and celebrate the summer around the original time of Midsummer with a big blót at the fantastic Rök Runestone. In addition to Saturday’s blót, various activities are organized throughout the day at our campsite located next to store Röks Lanthandel (Lanthandlar´n i Rök). The evening ends with a guild. Björn Järnsida's (Ironside) burial mound in Sweden 🇸🇪 In the early 18th century, a burial mound on the island of Munsö was claimed by antiquarians to be Björn Järnsidas hög or Björn Ironside's burial mound. The runestone crowns the burial mound of him in Uppland. The stone is a fragment and has the no. U 13 in the index list. The runestone was actually in a different location, but was moved here to give the place a mystical impression. The runes are translated as: … Þorgautr, they … spirit and God's … Today the place has become a small pilgrimage site for us pagans, which, as you can see, is often visited and large and small offerings are left behind. It was one of my favorite places to visit this year.

Runestones and bronze age carvings at Släbro, Sweden

One of my favorite Runestones, the Sønder Kirkeby Runestone, which is on display at the national museum of Denmark. I love this stone because of the bind runar at the top, that asks for Thor to bless the runes on this memorial piece, which is one of the few examples we have of Rune usage for a magical/spiritual purpose and the fact that its from the pagan times!
