• Read the Eddas, explore mythology and legends, immerse yourself in ancient stories, and meditate with runes. Absorb as much as you can about the runes, and eventually, you’ll be able to distinguish the meaningful from the meaningless. You’ll sense where the true essence of Odin’s wisdom is present and where it is not, recognizing when words are merely empty. Over time, the volume of knowledge will transform into true quality. Personally, I recommend the works of Thorsson, as they certainly contain the wisdom of Odin’s eye. Anton Platov’s books also hold that same depth.

  • Loving AI art at the moment. This image is based on an author description of a Norse Viking trader and an Icelandic farmer, 11th century. It always blows me away how close these images are to the image formed in my head when reading. Almost like a time window into the past.

  • Im currently reading 'The Sea Road" by Margaret Elphinstone. Its set in 11th century Iceland/Greenland. Anyway this is an AI image based on the authors description of Thurid, married to 1) Thorbjorn the Stout of Frodriver 2) Thorodd. Mother of Kjartan, lives at Frodriver in Iceland. Not sure how accurate to the period it is but a fair effort i think.

In which seat shall he sit?
Rash is he who at unknown doors

    Gestaþáttr ~ Stanza ~ 001
The man who stands at a strange threshold,
Should be cautious before he crosses it,
    Glance this way and that:
Who knows beforehand what foes may sit
    Awaiting him in the hall?

  • Primal label artwork for my shop Valkyrie Beard Care. Each has a bindrune, color and icon representing it. This bindrune incorporates:

Algiz (ᛉ) - Often seen as the rune of divine protection, but it goes deeper than just a simple shield. It's not passive—it actively connects the spiritual with the physical, the heavens with the earth. Imagine it as a kind of sacred antenna, reaching up to the divine forces for guidance and protection, while simultaneously grounding and rooting into the primal, earthly realm.

Uruz (ᚢ) – The rune of strength, endurance, and untamed power. It represents the primal force of nature, the raw and unyielding energy of the wild, like the strength of an ancient aurochs. For Primal, this rune speaks to the pure, unrefined essence of life, survival, and physicality.

Thurisaz (ᚦ) – The thorn, the giant, the force of chaos. Thurisaz embodies destructive power and primal instinct, the kind of uncontrollable force that can both protect and destroy. It brings a dangerous edge to the bindrune, symbolizing the wild, uncontrollable side of nature.

Eiwaz (ᛇ) – This rune represents the yew tree, associated with endurance, transformation, and the connection between life and death. It gives the bindrune a deeper spiritual dimension, reflecting the cycle of life, death, and rebirth that is part of the natural world. For Primal, it adds the notion of transformation, the primal forces that bring both creation and destruction.
