• Inspired by the artist The Raven from the North and the designs of the video game Total War: Thrones of Britannia, our very first emblem was created by our singer Mattjö Haussy at the beginning of 2020.

"Hrafngrímr" means "the one who wears a raven mask."

  • The Norse Tradition: Magic and Runes
The Norse tradition is unique in that it remained untouched by external influences like rosaries or thuribles. Even monks with Icelandic roots did not dare to add their own elements to this system—despite expectations. During the Christianization of Northern Europe, there was likely pressure to erase not just the gods but also the heroic epics. Why? Because rulers often traced their ancestry to gods, though not directly.
These rulers had many ancestors, and their actions weren’t always saintly. They solved their problems through various means, some of which were far from virtuous. As a result, the sagas, songs, and tales that remain portray these ancestors in a less-than-ideal light. These figures robbed, killed, and made mistakes. But which is worse—making a mistake or lying about it? The Norse tradition teaches that lying, in any form, is not just wrong; it depletes the soul.

  • My father passed away in early springtime, on an Easter Sunday. My grandparents had roots from Poland, and over the course of converting to a North American sect of Christianity, found that "Polish Easter breakfast" was something that the grandchildren should be part of every Easter.

I do know quite a good amount on Christianity, but I myself am not a Christian. I respect faith as faith goes.

My father refused attending a Christian service, while he was dying from cancer. His mother was a devout Buddhist. His father, from what I had heard, didn't bother with attending temple. I think my father's spirituality will always be uncertain.

  • To anyone looking to learn about the runes.

I had a notification from a company called Northern Black, a tattoo artist from the UK, who has a lot of knowledge on runes.

They have arranged a Kickstarter for a project, where they are providing a book on the runes, a set of cards with the runes on and depending on what you pledge you can get other items like a rune cloth and rune stones.

I have just backed this for a review but please go check it out.

  • The past of my country is nearly closed. We have extreme lack of information. Currently there is a huge stream of history reconstruction. And we are like children with lost parts of puzzle, who even don"t have enough money for pencils to fix
hypotheses. The main obstacle is the absence of key artifacts.. we couldn"t manage to keep in safe any grave of our ancient leaders.
Here is the new expositions in Nation museum of History - "Ancient belief" and "Kyiv in 10-12th century".
First presents artifacts of Scythians - their dishes, weapons, jewellery and second - artifacts concerning to the first huge christian church in Kyiv - Desyatynna(Tithe). As it was told in our "Povist vremenyh lit"(The Tale of Time) written by monks, this church was built on the place of some Warrior-Northman, who became a christian and who refused to sacrifice his son for the Ukrainian pagan god of thunder Perun. He was killed by anry pagans and then.. christians admitted him as saint and chose the place of his house for the church.. Several Princes including Volodymyr Velykyj were buried there according to the Tale. But there are no archeological proofs. In the end of 20th century there was found one origin wood sarcophagus with skeleton and weapon..
Very massive teeth.. Hope it could be studied thoroughly and may be reconstructed with scanning

  • Saw Heilung live for the first time last week, and when I drove home after the concert the northern lights suddenly flared up in the sky. Gave me goosebumps, and made an already magical evening even more magical!

  • The titles of their releases are in a language called Quechua. This language was the lingua franca of the Inca Empire. Nowadays it is spoken in the area between southern Colombia and northern Argentina, by around 8-10 million people, with the majority of those living in Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia.

  • A unique magical tool through which one can grasp the essence and meaning of Northern magic is the runes. They are intended to unlock the foundations of consciousness and establish a connection with the outer worlds of Yggdrasil. The first eight runes represent the first eight powers given to every person at birth. These are the basic, primal forces embedded by nature itself. Everyone possesses them, and if a person is strong in will and spirit, they will be resilient to external influences, and all these powers will be well-manifested within them.
