My view on historical reenactment

For me historical re enactment goes deeper than experimental archaeology or just simply re enactment it is a respect for our ancestors hardship and a show of a love and thanks for their strength to wear the clothes that they wore use the weapons they used and sleep in the dwellings / tents they used cook the food that they ate and in the ways that they cooked it and play the games that they played it shows a deep deep gratitude for them and all they have given to their descendants it was their defiance that helped asatru or the old ways survive it was their pro creation that allowed me to exist and what better way to show appreciation and thanks to them for doing so outside of ritual than to live a good life be kind and go through their hardship from camping in the winter and living in the wood for a few days with no electronics just tools provisions and a tent and the know how we are the result of a thousand loves thank your ancestors
