The Rista ok Skafa is a rite that empowers a sacrificial offering with the sacred force of the rúnar. This week, we are preparing our apple branches with specific runar. On Sunnudagr, we will conduct the rite itself in preparation for the upcoming meet‑up and Veizla.

It is one of our most regularly practiced religious observances throughout the year, at least until the time comes for our larger rites of passage at Miðsumar and the seasonal Veizlur.

Below are a few examples

Ljóðrúnar (“Song-Runes”)
Runes that empower sacred songs, galdr, and poetry (linked to Fimbulljóðar).

Meginrúnar (“Power-Runes”)
Grant strength, might, and spiritual power.

Ǫlrúnar (“Ale-Runes”)
To bless and protect drink (mead/horn) from poison and to sanctify the full.
