Greetings, community.
I am providing an urgent update regarding the unauthorized claim of my debut album, "Sopro Ancestral".
While Spotify has officially recognized the irregularity and blocked the album, the company involved—Downtown Music Publishing—is refusing to cooperate. Despite my formal notices, they have failed to provide any explanation as to WHY they claimed ownership of my intellectual property or how they justified a fraudulent 2010 release date for an album I created years later.
The current situation is critical:
The company remains silent regarding the financial damages they’ve caused.
This fraud led to the breach of a professional contract I had with a therapeutic center.
I am still being restricted from using my own music on YouTube due to their false claims.
As an independent artist and a Person with a Disability (PwD), I cannot let a global corporation silence my work and ignore the damages they have caused. I am now taking this case to the next level by publicly exposing their practices and pursuing further legal action.
I would be deeply grateful to anyone who can help spread the word, tag relevant authorities, or provide support. Your voice is essential to ensure that independent creators are protected from this kind of corporate exploitation.
I have reached out to the Brazilian authorities for assistance, but the response was disappointing and typical of the bureaucratic negligence here. They basically told me it’s not their concern and that I have to solve it on my own. It is disheartening to see no support for local artists against international exploitation, which is why I am turning to the global community for help.
Thank you for standing with me.
Skål!
